Early Childhood Teacher
at Cerner Corporation
Early Childhood Teacher
For more than 20 years, Cerner Kids has supported Cerner’s mission and vision by providing a nurturing educational environment exclusively for children of Cerner associates. The Montessori philosophy guides our programming, and we look for talented teachers to build lessons and activities to capture the interests of the children in their classroom. Early Childhood Teachers should possess the ability to assess and respond to the needs of children, using professional knowledge of children’s developmental milestones along with the ability to apply creative and varied approaches to children’s unique behavioral, developmental and educational needs. Teachers need to work cooperatively and collaboratively with their team members, remain calm and positive in a sometimes-stressful environment, possess excellent written and verbal communication skills and have the ability to multi-task.
Teachers at Cerner Kids are responsible for curriculum planning, implementation and assessment, parent partnership and basic care giving for children 6 weeks to 6 years of age. Cerner currently offers two childcare centers. Cerner Kids at Realization, near the Grandview Triangle in South Kansas City and Cerner Kids at World Headquarters in North Kansas City. Our centers have capacity for nearly 400 students. There are multiple shifts available for Early Childhood Teachers, including Monday through Friday 7 am-4 pm, 8 am-5 pm, and an option for four, ten-hour days with a rotating day off each week. Availability of shifts is based on business need.
