LOCATION: Spofford Campus
RESPONSIBILITIES: The Family Services Specialist is responsible for completing initial and ongoing risk and safety assessments with family.  Primary duties include ensuring treatment planning occurs within 20 days of initial work with a family as well as meeting with families in their home following Family Services Procedures.  This position is responsible for following and implementing the Family Services procedure manual.  The Family Services Specialist is responsible for completing all required DCF – PPS forms and ensuring all data is given to PPS to put into the Family and Child Tracking System (FACTS).  Continually analyzing and assessing each family and child situation on an individual basis, using advanced knowledge in the area of child welfare to develop recommendations regarding supportive services and resources that each child and family may need, such as educational plans, medical, psychiatric and psychological assessments, therapy and independent living skills.  This position prepares and maintains, according to Cornerstones of Care and DCF Policies, all required case record documentation, incident reports, service plans, and other recordkeeping, so that records clearly reflect actions from referral to closure.  The Family Services Specialist is a Kansas position but will be temporarily based out of our Spofford Campus in Kansas City, MO.
QUALIFICATIONS: This position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Counseling or Human Services and be licensed by the Behavioral Sciences Regulatory Board to practice in Kansas (i.e. Social Worker, Marriage and Family Therapist, Psychologist, Professional Counselor, and / or Alcohol and Drug Counselor.)  The preferred candidate will have a Master’s Degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Counseling or Human Services.  Must pass background check, physical and drug screening.  This position also requires a valid driver’s license and proof of current vehicle insurance. 
SALARY: $30,409.34 - $45,614.02 per year
(Starting salary depends on education and experience)
