Job Description

H&R Block, the world’s leader in tax preparation services, is looking for a Program Manager – Block Advisors Operations.  The Program Manager will be responsible for delivering key initiatives for the Block Advisors brand that align with the strategic pillars of the organization. In this role, you will define the business needs and supporting requirements to contribute to the growth and operational excellence for the brand. You will be accountable for managing projects of the program from inception through readiness for execution. You will lead supporting functional partners and define their role and deliverables for the program. This role will be a liaison from CSC to the field to assist in escalation support and other seasonal needs of the field organization, as needed.
What you’ll do…

  • Responsible for the development and implementation of assigned program(s) including change management.
  • Act as a single point of contact for assigned program.
  • Work in partnership with leaders to obtain and commit necessary resources at the appropriate time, level, and expertise to support the projects required to support the program.
  • Oversee teams of individuals from cross functional teams to accomplish project/program outcomes.
  • Responsible for the delivery of project components.
  • Provide regular status updates to leadership teams.
  • Monitor and mitigate project/program risks.
  • Ensure completion of program deliverables. Ensure projects that are part of the program are delivered on time and on budget with superior quality.
  • Maintain a field and client lens throughout the project Lifecyle ensuring both audience’s needs are considered.
  • Continual focus on process and program improvement for efficiency and optimization of the business.
  • Identify leading indicators and key seasonal milestones for assigned program.
  • Review/proof communications to field leaders and associates.
What you’ll bring to the role:   
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, IT, Management or equivalent business experience.
  • 7-10 years of business experience.
  • 5 years of project management experience.
  • Program management experience leading large programs that involve significant business change.
  • Demonstrated track record of establishing priorities and meeting deadlines.
  • Matrix management skills and ability to oversee tasks delegated to others.
  • Driven, motivated problem-solver with proven program experience and collaboration skills.
  • Excellent prioritization and coordination skills with the ability to work to multiple deadlines under pressure.
  • Demonstrated organizational skills when dealing with complex, disparate situations.
  • Strong interpersonal, written and verbal skills which allow you to influence and interact with confidence and credibility at all levels within the organization.
  • Strong presentation and facilitation skills to communicate with and persuade a wide range of audiences.
  • Adept at multitasking, with great attention to detail.
  • Self-directed with a positive "can-do" attitude and a flexible, "roll up your sleeves" mindset.
  • Self-reliant individual with demonstrated ability to quickly add value to an organization.
