Job Description
The architect provides vision, expertise and long-range planning in information security architecture.  Serves as an advisor and resident expert, working closely with leadership to set strategic direction and engineering teams to provide architectural guidance and oversight.  Develops and delivers end-to-end security solutions for applications and infrastructure projects. 
Architectural Leadership
  • Responsible for providing technical and architectural leadership in the area of information security.
  • Establishes and maintains a trusted advisor relationship with IT and business leaders.
  • Investigates latest technology developments and market trends, analyzing impact on current or future system requirements.
  • Partners with strategic vendors to stay apprised of changes in relevant trends and technologies. 
  • Contributes to the development of corporate policies, procedures, practices and standards in the area of information security, ensuring compliance.
  • Establishes best practices in area of responsibility.
  • Coaches and mentors associates on technical skills development. 
Security Development
  • Ensures security across all endpoints, malware protection, and baseline security configuration for all systems. 
  • Designs, integrates and deploys security architecture in the enterprise.
  • Assists in the design, delivery and operation of the company Vulnerability Management Program, including network and application vulnerability scanning and remediation.
  • Adhering to industry standards, designs security models, develops security requirements, reviews and approves security configurations and installation of LAN, WAN, VPN, routers, firewalls, WAF and related security and network devices, designs public key infrastructures, including use of certification authorities as well as hardware and software.
  • Assesses potential systems and process vulnerabilities to determine security infrastructure requirements.
  • Analyzes systems and data security risks, making recommendations and developing security measures to protect information.
  • Assists with incident response and analysis on complex cases.
  • Prepares security reports collecting, analyzing and summarizing data and trends.
  • Performs gap analyses across the organization to identify and document risk and to identify unnecessary complexity in existing processes and procedures.  Works with application owners on mitigation strategies.
  • Develops security reference models and architectures to integrate with various distributed systems. 
Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelors’ degree in Management/Computer Information Systems, Cyber Security or similar related field. 
  • Minimum of 12 years of IT experience, including at least four years’ experience in IT security architecture.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Demonstrated knowledge of information security discipline via relevant industry certifications (e.g., CISSP, CAP, CISM, GSEC, GSNA).
  • Understanding of IT related regulations (e.g., SOX, PCI) and frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001).
  • Demonstrated advanced knowledge of SIEM, IPS/IDS, vulnerability management, WAF, Next-gen firewalls, VPN, encryption, authentication, identity access management, application security, MDM, Cloud and LAN/WAN/WLAN security.
  • Strong knowledge of information systems security standards and practices (e.g., security policies, access control, system audit and log file monitoring, risk identification and assessment, risk remediation and reporting).
  • Strong analytical, organizational and project management skills.
  • Demonstrated problem solving skills and good judgment.
  • Advanced understanding of current threats and trends present in the Information Security and Technology field.
  • Ability to successfully manage multiple concurrent objectives or activities, and effectively make decisions to prioritize tasks and allocate time given evolving business priorities.
  • Ability to communicate and work effectively with others, act proactively across business units and functions, harness different skills and experience, and build a strong sense of team spirit.
  • Results oriented with the ability to overcome obstacles, able to work well under deadlines in a changing environment.
  • Excellent verbal communication, presentation and writing skills.
